Objectives of the Course
Agricultural activity, technically, consists of plant production, animal production and agricultural technology branches. Agricultural Economics shows the conditions and ways for these 3 main branches of production to take place in such a way as to make rational work possible in an agricultural enterprise.An increase in productivity in agricultural activity can be achieved by rational work of enterprises and the application of innovations. However, it is a wrong approach to accept that all the innovations and developments in the technical field can be applied in agriculture. Because, techniques that do not comply with economic conditions have no place in practice. For this reason; in the field of agricultural economics, issues such as land use, utilization of production factors, organization, marketing, planning, expropriation and valuation, rural development and rural sociology, as well as the applications of these issues, agricultural policy and farmer education are of great importance.

Content of the Course
The Department of Agricultural Economics is a department within the Faculty of Agriculture since the beginning of agricultural higher education in Turkey in 1933. For a period of more than 70 years, the contributions of the faculty members of the Department of Agricultural Economics to the world of science and practice have been continuing continuously. The greatest contribution of the faculty members of the Department of Agricultural Economics to the scientific world has been at the stage of establishing agricultural Faculties at Cukurova, Uludag and May 19 Universities.Faculty members of the Department of Agricultural Economics; In addition to educational and educational activities, they work in cooperation with both official and private organizations in their subject areas.
